Neural Implants at the Nexus of Mind and Shari'ah: An Islamic Jurisprudential Inquiry into Humanity, Accountability, and Ethics

This project is a jurisprudential research study that examines Neural Implants (NI) and Brain–Computer Interface (BCI) technologies from an Islamic legal and ethical perspective. Using the methodologies of Fiqh al-Nawāzil, Usul al-Fiqh, Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah, and Jurisprudential Maxims, the study evaluates how these technologies affect intellect, free will, accountability, and human dignity. The research discusses applied scenarios such as NI-assisted worship, criminal liability under neural coercion, post-mortem rulings, and the legal status of the implant user, offering a balanced Islamic framework for engaging with emerging neurotechnologies.
